Somalia’s Immigration and Citizenship Agency Releases 2025 Annual Performance Report
The Immigration and Citizenship Agency of the Federal Republic of Somalia has officially launched its 2025 Annual Performance Report under the theme "Secure Borders, Safe Somalia."
The report highlights significant progress made by the Agency in strengthening border security, modernizing immigration services, and implementing digital transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, transparency, and service quality. It also provides an in-depth review of legal, institutional, and systems reforms aligned with the Agency’s Strategic Plan for 2025–2029.
In 2025, the Immigration and Citizenship Agency achieved tangible milestones, including the implementation of the Electronic Travel Authorization System (e-TAS), modernization of Somali passports in compliance with ICAO standards, strengthened efforts to combat human smuggling and migration-related crimes, and major improvements in data management, data protection, and performance management systems.
The report further underscores the role of the ICA Academy in training and professional development of staff, the expansion and upgrading of border infrastructure and service centers, and enhanced national, regional, and international cooperation to ensure sustainable border security.
Once again, the Immigration and Citizenship Agency reaffirmed its strong commitment to safeguarding national security, facilitating lawful travel, upholding human rights, and advancing a modern, data-driven, and technology-based immigration system founded on accountability and good governance.
