Somali land forces commander meets Nigerian Infantry Commander in Kigali to strengthen military cooperation
Kigali, Rwanda- The Commander of the Somali National Army’s Land Forces, Major General Sahal Abdullahi Omar (Gen. Khalid), held a meeting in Kigali with the Commander of the Nigerian Army’s Infantry, Major General Usman Abdulmumin Yusuf.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral military cooperation between Somalia and Nigeria, particularly in the areas of counter-terrorism operations, exchange of battlefield experience, and capacity building through joint training programs.
Both commanders agreed to expand the scope of collaboration between their respective forces, acknowledging that both nations face similar extremist threats.
They emphasized the importance of uniting their efforts to combat and eliminate terrorist networks that undermine peace and stability in their countries.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by the Somali National Army to bolster international security partnerships and enhance coordination in the global fight against terrorism.
