Somalia’s Second Deputy Prime Minister Launches Forum to Boost Public Service Delivery and Government Accountability
Mogadishu- The Second Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi, on Saturday inaugurated a high-level forum in Mogadishu focused on enhancing the effectiveness, transparency, and accountability of public service delivery across the country.
The forum brought together senior government officials, representatives from the private sector, and development partners to discuss strategies for improving access to essential public services, especially in underserved rural and remote communities.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Jibril emphasized the government’s commitment to building a transparent and citizen-centered administration.
He underscored the critical role of collaboration between the public and private sectors in achieving sustainable development and improving the quality of life for Somali citizens.
“We are determined to strengthen institutions, ensure accountability, and bring services closer to the people,” said Jibril. “I call upon the business community and investors to play a proactive role in expanding essential services across the nation, particularly in areas that have long been marginalized.”
The forum also explored innovative approaches to public sector reform, digital governance, and economic empowerment as key pillars of Somalia’s ongoing state-building efforts.
