Somali Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs meets President of Djibouti
The Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Sheikh Mukhtaar Robow Ali, who is on official visit to Djibouti, met on Friday evening meeting with the President of Djibouti, Ismaïl Omar Guelleh.
The Minister was accompanied by his Djiboutian counterpart, Moumin Hassan Barre, during the meeting, which focused on strengthening the brotherly relations between the two nations and enhancing cooperation in religious affairs, peace promotion, and the management of endowments.
Minister Sheikh Mukhtaar Robow expressed his deep appreciation to President Guelleh for Djibouti’s continuous support to Somalia, highlighting the President’s historic role in standing by Somalia during its most difficult period, particularly after the 1991 state collapse.
He commended President Guelleh’s leadership in hosting the 2000 Arta Peace Conference, which laid the foundation for the re-establishment of Somalia’s Third Republic.
The Minister also extended his gratitude to President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh and Djibouti’s Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Moumin Hassan Barre, for the warm and brotherly reception accorded to him and his delegation.
He noted that the Somali Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs would benefit greatly from Djibouti’s experience in several key areas, including endowment management, the establishment of a national Zakat registry, and the promotion of moderation and peace through dedicated institutions.
The visit forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation with neighboring countries, promote religious development, and enhance the role of Islamic institutions in fostering peace, unity, and social progress in Somalia.
