Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre meets Turkish Ambassador and Favori Officials to discuss major upgrades at Aden Adde International Airport
Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, today held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Somalia, Alper Aktaş, and senior representatives from Favori LLC, the company managing Aden Adde International Airport.
The discussions focused on ongoing and planned initiatives aimed at modernizing and enhancing the quality of services at Somalia’s main international gateway.
During the meeting, the leadership of Favori LLC presented a detailed briefing on their comprehensive development plans, which include upgrading key airport facilities, expanding operational capacity, and improving passenger experience to meet international aviation standards.
The company emphasized its commitment to supporting Somalia’s aviation sector and contributing to the country’s broader economic growth.
Prime Minister Hamza commended Favori for its continued investment and dedication to improving Aden Adde International Airport, describing the airport as the country’s primary entry point and a critical symbol of national progress.
He stressed the importance of ensuring that the airport remains a modern, safe, and efficient hub capable of serving the needs of both domestic and international travelers.
Highlighting the long-standing and brotherly relations between Somalia and Türkiye, the Prime Minister expressed deep appreciation for Türkiye’s unwavering support across multiple sectors, including infrastructure development, education, health, humanitarian assistance, security, and economic cooperation. He noted that Türkiye’s contributions have played a vital role in Somalia’s post-conflict recovery, institution building, and service delivery improvements.
Prime Minister Hamza reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Türkiye in key sectors that advance Somalia’s stability and prosperity.
