Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry participates in AfCFTA business forum in Morocco
The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mahmoud Ahmed Abdullahi (Abukaate), participated in the second Business Forum of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) held in Marrakech, Morocco.
The forum focused on effective and coordinated implementation of AfCFTA, bringing together African trade ministers, heads of trade agencies, and business leaders from across the continent.
During the event, Deputy Minister Mahmoud Ahmed Abdullahi held meetings with senior AfCFTA officials, the Prime Minister of Morocco, the Moroccan Minister of Trade and Industry, and trade ministers from Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Djibouti.
These discussions centered on strengthening bilateral trade relations, enhancing regional trade cooperation, and expanding Somalia’s role in Africa’s economic integration.
The participation of Somalia’s Deputy Minister underscores the country’s commitment to regional economic integration, effective implementation of AfCFTA, leveraging trade opportunities across Africa, and enhancing Somalia’s visibility on continental business platforms.
