Somalia’s interior ministry meets civil society to boost cooperation

Somalia’s Ministry of Interior, Federalism and Reconciliation Director General, Abdulqadir Elmi (Abdul), held a meeting with leaders of civil society organizations.

The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation between the government and civil society, advancing national priorities, supporting social cohesion efforts, protecting national unity, and collaborating on solutions to ongoing drought challenges across the country.

Civil society representatives praised the government for its efforts and reaffirmed their support in defending national unity, sovereignty, and initiatives to assist communities affected by drought.

Director General Abdulqadir Cilmi commended the civil society groups for their leadership and highlighted their important role in Somalia’s state-building process.
