Somalia’s National Bureau of Statistics unveils its first SDG Environmental and Energy Indicator reports.
The Somali National Bureau of Statistics, with support from government ministries and development partners, has launched the country’s first reports on SDG Environmental and SDG-7 Energy Indicators, providing an official data foundation for evidence-based planning, service delivery, and investment decisions, and supporting Somalia’s preparation for the 2026 Voluntary National Review.
The Somali National Bureau of Statistics (SNBS), in collaboration with partner ministries and development stakeholders, has officially launched Somalia’s first reports on SDG Environmental Indicators and SDG-7 Energy Indicators.
These reports strengthen the national data and evidence base by consolidating official data to show progress and challenges across key environmental and energy indicators. The information will support effective planning, efficient service delivery, and investment decisions grounded in accurate data.
The launch highlights advancements in using administrative data within government ministries and plays a crucial role in preparing Somalia for the 2026 Voluntary National Review (VNR).
SNBS expressed gratitude to all ministries and stakeholders who contributed data, technical support, and collaboration that made the reports possible.
