The Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, who is on an official working visit to the State of Qatar, today attended the graduation ceremony of joint officers trained at Qatar’s military academies, including Somali officers.

The ceremony was held at the Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College and was officially concluded by the Amir of the State of Qatar, H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who awarded medals to officers who achieved top ranks.

Minister Fiqi praised the role of the Qatari government in supporting the development and professionalization of the Somali National Army. He noted that the skills and knowledge acquired by the graduating officers will significantly enhance the capacity and effectiveness of Somalia’s armed forces.

The Minister emphasized that Somalia highly values Qatar’s continued support in military training and capacity building, describing it as a key pillar in strengthening national defense institutions.

The ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Somali National Army, General Odowaa Yusuf Rage, who accompanied the Minister during the visit.
