Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre inspects polling stations in Mogadishu during Banadir local council elections.

The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, visited polling stations across Mogadishu today as citizens flocked to vote in the Banadir Regional Council elections.

The Prime Minister toured locations in Shangani, Boondheere, and Xamar-Jajab districts, observing the smooth conduct of the elections, security arrangements, and services provided to voters. He emphasized that maintaining peace, ensuring transparency in the electoral process, and respecting citizens’ choices are key pillars of genuine democracy, a responsibility shared by all government institutions and society at large.

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre noted that today fulfilled a long-awaited aspiration of the Somali people, marking a historic milestone toward good governance and the strengthening of democracy through direct elections that restore citizens’ rights.
