SouthWest State MP Assassinated In Mogadishu

A South West State regional Member of Parliament was on Tuesday evening shot dead by unknown gunmen in the Somalia capital Mogadishu, Radio Dalsan reports.

Ruqiya Abshir Noor was shot outside her home in Shibis district, authorities confirmed.

Noor was rushed to Medina Hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.

She is the second regional lawmaker to be killed this month.

On 7 March Hirshabelle MP Abdi Farah, South West State Minister Abdirahman Abdiqadir and two bodyguards and a driver were killed in an IED bombing near Afgoye which Alshabaab claimed responsibility.
