President Mohamud casts his vote in Banadir Local Council Elections

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Maxamuud, accompanied by the First Lady, Qamar Ali Omar, cast their votes today at the National Theatre precinct, where the direct elections for the Banadir Regional Councils are underway.
At the voting center, the President and First Lady met with hundreds of citizens actively participating in the electoral process, demonstrating their civic responsibility and commitment to building a democratic government guided by the will of the people.
President Maxamuud praised the smooth conduct of the elections, the security arrangements, and the efficient organization of the electoral bodies, which enabled residents of the capital to freely exercise their right to vote. He emphasized that direct elections represent a significant step toward strengthening democracy, accountability, and citizen representation.
In his statement, the President called on all residents of Banadir to take full advantage of this historic opportunity, participate in the elections, and ensure that their votes contribute to establishing transparent leadership and sustainable development.
