A Somalia National Army military official was on Thursday killed and 2 other people wounded after a bomb fitted in a car they were aboard went off, a police source confirmed to Radio Dalsan
The military official name could not be immediately be availed by police but he is described as a Somali national of Yemeni descent
The officer is said to have been trained in the United Arab Emirates and he was the head security of the embassy
The car bomb exploded in Manabolio junction in the Somali capital Mogadishu
Police have launched an investigation into the bombing
No group has claimed responsibility over the attack although it bares hallmarks of the Somali militant group Alshabaab which in the past has targetted military and other government officials
