Somalia’s labour minister meets civil service committee to boost government staff capacity
Somalia’s Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Prof. Salim Aliyow Ibrow, on Monday met with the Federal Civil Service Committee (NCSC) at his Mogadishu office.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister MP Amina Hussein Ali, State Minister Aynanshe Yusuf Hussein, and Director General Yusuf Hassan.
The civil service team was led by Chairman Hassan Abshirow Mohamed.
Prof. Ibrow listened to a detailed briefing from the committee on ongoing reforms in civil service management, progress made, and efforts to ensure a fair and transparent recruitment system across the government.
The discussion focused on strengthening government staff capacity, including training, skill development, time management, and attendance. The committee also outlined challenges affecting current initiatives and sought the ministry’s support in addressing them.
In closing, Prof. Ibrow thanked the committee for their work in improving Somalia’s public service and announced plans for future meetings to fast-track reforms.
