Minister Da’uud Aweys Commends Media and Artists for Role in Arta Anniversary Celebrations
The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Da’uud Aweys Jama, held a meeting in his office with senior officials from various departments of the ministry to review recent achievements and future priorities.
Among those present were the Director General, Abdullahi Hayir Duale; the General Manager of the Somali Academy of Arts and Culture, poet Osman Abdullahi Guure; Deputy Director of the National Theatre, poet Maki Haji Banadir; the Director of the Somali National News Agency (SONNA), Ismail Omar Mukhtar; SNTV Director, Mohamed Kaafi Abukar Mohamed; and Radio Mogadishu Director, Abdifatah Dahir Jayte.
The Minister commended the officials for their outstanding performance during the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the historic Arta Conference, acknowledging their dedication and teamwork. He also praised the National Artists of the Waaberi Band and other cultural performers for their remarkable shows during the events held in Djibouti.
Minister Da’uud noted that both public and private media outlets demonstrated exceptional commitment and professionalism in covering the Carta anniversary, ensuring that the milestone was commemorated nationally and internationally.
He urged all media professionals and artists to continue their efforts and play an active role in national causes, including the fight against terrorism, the upcoming elections, and Somalia’s ongoing state-building process.
The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism played a central role in organizing and implementing the 25th Carta Anniversary celebrations — a commemoration marking the foundation of Somalia’s Third Republic.
