HirShabelle Cabinet Approves $44.3 Million Budget for 2026
The Council of Ministers of the HirShabelle State Government, chaired by President Cali Cabdullaahi Xuseen (Cali Guudlaawe), has approved the projected budget for the 2026 fiscal year, amounting to $44,355,094.12.
The session began with the swearing-in of newly appointed ministers and deputy ministers for key portfolios, including Labour and Social Affairs, Energy and Water Resources, Interior and Local Governments, Information, Culture and Tourism, and Finance.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Security briefed the cabinet on a recent operation by local militia (Macawiisley) in Mahadaay District, which resulted in the killing of several Al-Shabaab commanders. The Ministry of Finance presented the 2026 budget allocation bill, while the Ministry of Information submitted a report on media development and tourism within the state.
President Cali Guudlaawe emphasized the importance of accountability and performance among ministries, highlighting areas that have experienced delays in implementation of priority projects.
At the conclusion of the session, the Council of Ministers formally endorsed the 2026 budget projection, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to strengthening governance, public services, and economic growth across HirShabelle.
