President Deni opens 57th session of Puntland Parliament, Highlights Security and Development Achievements
Garowe-Puntland State President Said Abdullahi Deni, accompanied by Deputy President Ilyas Osman Lugatoor, on Saturday officially opened the 57th session of the Puntland House of Representatives in Garowe.
In his constitutional address, President Deni outlined key milestones achieved by his administration, including major gains in security and the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in Calmiskaad, the strengthening of the Puntland Police Force, expansion of government services, and progress in social development and infrastructure projects.
He also underscored the importance of peacebuilding initiatives in Ceergaabo and reaffirmed Puntland’s role in helping Somalia navigate the current political uncertainties.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Speaker of the Puntland House of Representatives, Abdirizak Ahmed Said; First Deputy Speaker, Mohamed Baari Shire; Second Deputy Speaker, Mohamed Mahmoud Isse (Awoowe); senior government officials, traditional leaders, members of the Nugaal regional and Garowe district administrations, civil society representatives, and other dignitaries.
