Somali Deputy of Minister of Information participates in annual CMD awards ceremony in The Hague
The Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdirahman Yuusuf Omar (Al-Adaala), together with a delegation, participated in the annual Community, Media, and Development Awards (CMD) Awards ceremony held in The Hague, the Netherlands.
The Deputy Minister was accompanied by the Somali Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union, distinguished veteran journalists, and several Somali officials currently serving in various capacities in the Netherlands.
The event brought together members of the Somali diaspora, business leaders, community representatives, and guests from different countries who gathered to celebrate excellence and achievement within the Somali community abroad.
The CMD Awards, which are held annually, aim to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of Somalis in various sectors, particularly those who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to business, entrepreneurship, and community development.
During the ceremony, several Somali nationals were presented with awards in recognition of their hard work, innovation, and success in advancing the Somali business landscape both in Europe and beyond.
In his remarks at the event, Deputy Minister Al-Adaala commended the Somali diaspora for their resilience, commitment, and contribution to the development of Somalia.
He highlighted the crucial role that the diaspora continues to play in supporting the country’s social and economic progress through investment, knowledge transfer, and community engagement.
The ceremony also served as a networking platform for Somali entrepreneurs and professionals to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration aimed at promoting sustainable growth and prosperity within Somali communities around the world.
The event concluded with expressions of appreciation to the organizers of the CMD Awards for their continued efforts in recognizing and promoting Somali talent and achievement on the global stage.
