Presidents of Puntland and Galmudug regional states of Somalia have signed peace agreement that aimed to end the fighting that has been taking place in the divided city of Galkacyo for the month.
Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke, Jubaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam “Madobe†and foreign delegates led by UN Representative to Somalia Michael Keating led the discussions to mediate a peace agreement.
The latest clashes between the two forces have been killed over 40 people and displaced nearly 70,000 families.
A previous peace deal was agreed in last month under the auspices of Somali federal leaders and the international community representatives.
