Dreadful confrontation between Alshabab fighters and nomad people has taken place at Qandho and Tardo villages in Mahaas district in Hiraan region in central Somalia.
The police commissioner of Mahaas district Major Hussein Hassan told Radio Dalsan that 7 people from both sides died in the battle while 9 others sustained injuries.
The police commissioner also added that the fight between the two sides commenced after Alshabab fighter ordered the nomad people to give them their livestock under the title of what they called as charity, and the nomad insisted to give any of their livestock to Alshabab and instead preferred to take arms against them.
Eyewitnesses on the ground also added that a truck which was to be uploaded with the livestock was burnt during the fight.
The latest report coming in from the two villages say that the nomad people are in full control of the two villages, and have overpowered Alshabab fighters.
In addition to that Somali government soldiers reached at these two villages in order to reinforce the brave nomad people who have insisted no be extorted by Alshabab men.
The 9 wounded nomads are brought to Baladweyn referral hospital where they are undergoing treatments.
