The radical Islamist movement in Somalia has on Friday taken control of the coastal town of Marka in the lower shabelle region after the African Union troops have abandoned their bases in the town.
Alshabab officers addressed the local residents in Marka town on Saturday morning and told the people that there should be no person other than them who can have any sort of gun in the town, and who ever kills a person deliberately will also be killed.
In the past couple of weeks AU troops have abandoned several bases in Somalia, and the most notable is El-Ade base in Gedo region where over 100 kenyan troops have been killed by Alshabab fighter after deadly attack on their base.
