Somali Independent Media Houses Association has delivered US dollars 1360 to Journalist Muawiye Ahmed Mudey on behalf of Rory Pecks Trust.
The money was part of donation by Rory Pecks Trust for Somali Journalist who was wounded while on his journalism duty on February 27th earlier this year.
SIMHA Chairman Hassan Ali Gesey who handed over the cash to Journalist Muawiye has thanked Rory Pecks Trust for their support to Somali Journalists.
“We appreciate the role of Rory Pecks Trust in helping Somali Journalists who face challenges in their work,†he said.
On his part Journalist Mudey also thanked Rory Pecks Trust and Somali Independent Media Houses Association for their hand while in hospital.
Mudey sustained wounds while covering story on government officials visit to outskirts of Mogadishu on February.
Somalia is described as dangerous environment for Journalists to operate after Iraq and Syria.
