Somalia’s Puntland president Abdiwali Mohamed Ali Gaas on Monday launched a new public road in the heart of heavily fortified capital, Garowe. The administration has spent roughly $230,000 for its foundation.
Top officials from the cabinet and few UN representatives were present at a colorful tribute held for the road. Addressing reporters, the president said that Puntland capital is progressively growing and urged people to join in ongoing developmental efforts.
“The road will connect Waaberi, Wadajir and Horseed villages in Gorowe as part of region public upgrading process “President Gaas said.
The President Gaas has laid road’s cornerstone on July last year seven months after he got elected as Puntland’s fifth president on January. Puntland state had enjoyed relative peace since 1998.
