Somalia’s Punland police apprehended at least 11 suspected Al-shabaab members following a security sweeps conducted by the police in Garowe on Wednesday.
Nugaal police Chief Ahmed Abduhalahi said that many of them were captured during overnight security operations in the region.
“Police authorities brought here suspected members for questioning, when the operation finishes we will provide detailed information about the ongoing security efforts “Ahmed Abdulahi said.
In the recent months Puntland military court in Garowe handed down serious sentences to Al-shabaab alleged fighters. Nugaal police Chief Ahmed asked Nugaal residents to work with the police in order to maintain security.
