The Minister of Defense of Somalia, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, held a telephone conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani.

During the call, Minister Fiqi conveyed the full solidarity and support of the Somali government and people with the government and citizens of Qatar following recent attacks reported inside the Gulf state.

The Somali defense minister strongly condemned the attacks, describing them as acts that threaten Qatar’s security and sovereignty and violate international laws and principles.

He also expressed confidence that the Qatari government would overcome the challenges posed by the incidents and maintain stability and security in the country.

The conversation also highlighted the strong ties between Somalia and Qatar, with both sides reaffirming the importance of continuing to strengthen their friendship and cooperation. Officials say the discussion reflects the close diplomatic and security partnership between the two countries, which has grown in recent years through cooperation in development, security, and humanitarian assistance.
