SNA Ground Forces commend Custodial Corps for their role in justice and security
The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Somali National Army (SNA), General Sahal Cabdullaahi Cumar, has extended his congratulations to the Somali Custodial Corps on the occasion of their 56th anniversary.
In his message, General Sahal conveyed his well-wishes to all ranks within the Custodial Corps, including senior officers, commanders, lieutenants, and enlisted personnel, speaking on behalf of himself and the Ground Forces Command.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all members of the Somali Custodial Corps as they celebrate the 56th anniversary of their founding. They remain the backbone of the justice system and play a critical role in maintaining security within the nation’s detention facilities,” General Sahal said.
The Somali Custodial Corps was established on February 22, 1970, and has since been instrumental in overseeing prisoners, implementing rehabilitation programs, enforcing discipline, and ensuring the overall security of detention centers across Somalia.
General Sahal also praised the corps for their unwavering dedication and professionalism in fulfilling their national duties and expressed his hopes for continued progress, unity, and significant achievements in the years ahead.
The anniversary celebrations highlight the Custodial Corps’ ongoing contribution to Somalia’s justice and security sectors, emphasizing the importance of disciplined and accountable law enforcement in maintaining stability across the country.
