SNA and AU mission strengthen strategic military partnership

The Commander of the Somali National Army, Brigadier General Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, today received the Special Representative of the African Union and Head of African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), Ambassador El Hadji Ibrahima Diene, along with the AUSSOM Force Commander, Lieutenant General Sam Kavuma.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and strategic partnership between the Somali National Army Command and AUSSOM. Discussions centered on the implementation of the Security Transition Plan and accelerating ongoing operations aimed at eliminating Al-Shabaab militants.

Brig. Gen. Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud expressed appreciation for AUSSOM’s visible role in supporting security, stabilization efforts, and the broader mission to enhance peace and stability across Somalia.
