Ministry of Internal Security Reaffirms Airport Security Procedures at Aden Adde International Airport

The Ministry of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia has issued a public statement reaffirming that the long-established security procedures at Aden Adde International Airport remain fully operational and apply equally to all individuals entering or exiting the airport.

According to the Ministry, the standard protocol requires that after 5:00 p.m., access to the airport must be made through the designated Marina Gate. Additionally, armed personnel are not permitted to enter the airport premises under any circumstances, in line with established security regulations.

The statement follows an incident that occurred last night in which certain former government officials reportedly violated these procedures. The Ministry stated that the individuals entered the airport accompanied by a large number of armed guards and used an unauthorized gate instead of the designated evening access point. Authorities noted that such actions pose serious risks to airport security and safety, and constitute a breach of official security protocols.

The Ministry emphasized that airport security regulations apply to all citizens and officials without exception, whether currently in office or formerly serving in public positions. It reiterated that no individual is exempt from complying with the established security framework.

Furthermore, the Ministry clarified that no former officials were denied entry to the airport. Rather, the issue stemmed from refusal by certain individuals to comply with the required security procedures.

The Ministry of Internal Security urged all parties to respect and adhere to airport security laws and regulations to ensure the overall safety of the facility and the protection of Somali citizens.
