Prime Minister Hamza Appoints New Directors General, Urges Integrity and Accountability
The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, has issued official appointments for two senior government positions, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to effective leadership, transparency, and public service delivery.
In the appointments, the Prime Minister named Mr. Ahmed Hassan Yusuf as the new Director General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Federal Government of Somalia. Mr. Ahmed brings experience and institutional knowledge to the role, which is central to empowering Somali youth, promoting sports development, and advancing programs that foster social cohesion and national development.
Additionally, Mr. Abdinur Hassan Mohamed was appointed as Director General for Justice Affairs at the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia. In this capacity, Mr. Abdinur will play a key role in strengthening justice sector governance, supporting constitutional processes, and enhancing the rule of law across the country.
During the appointment ceremony, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre offered guidance and encouragement to both officials, emphasizing the importance of integrity, transparency, professionalism, and diligent fulfillment of responsibilities. He underscored that public office is a trust, calling on the newly appointed Directors General to serve the Somali people with dedication and accountability, in line with national priorities and government reform agendas.
