Jubaland Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs distributes water to drought-affected communities in western Kismayo.

Amid severe drought affecting both people and livestock in Jubaland, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has launched water distribution operations in the western areas of Kismayo, one of the worst affected regions.

The ministry’s operations have so far reached Barkada Sharifada and Koran Uusle, while several other villages remain without adequate water supply.

Residents in the areas benefiting from the water distribution expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Qatar Red Crescent, which provided funding for the operations, praying for abundant blessings upon their support.

Finally, the local communities appealed to Somali citizens both inside and outside the country to provide assistance and help address the urgent needs caused by the drought.
