Somalia hosts economic forum to strengthen investment and business collaboration
The Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development hosted a major forum in Mogadishu, bringing together Somali and international investors. Minister Mahmoud C. Sheikh Farah highlighted improving investment conditions and urged close cooperation to accelerate the National Transformation Plan and achieve sustainable economic growth.
The Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development of Somalia today hosted a significant forum in Mogadishu, bringing together the leadership of Somali companies and international investors operating in the country.
More than 100 participants, including business leaders, investors, government officials, and diplomats, attended the meeting, which focused on accelerating economic dialogue, raising awareness among business communities on priority economic sectors, strengthening the implementation of the National Transformation Plan (NTP 2025–2029), and enhancing collaboration between local and international investors.
Closing the session, Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, Mahmoud C. Sheikh Farah (Beenebeene), emphasized that the increase in foreign investment demonstrates a steadily improving investment climate in Somalia and confirms that government reforms are yielding results. He called on both domestic and international business communities to work closely with the Ministry to accelerate the implementation of the NTP and achieve inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
