Federal Deputy Ministers inspect voter card issuance in Abdiaziz District.
A high-level federal delegation led by three deputy ministers visited Abdiaziz District in Mogadishu to assess the ongoing distribution of voter cards for the upcoming Banaadir local council elections. The officials praised residents for their strong participation and urged those yet to collect their cards to do so before election day on December 25.
A delegation comprising the Deputy Minister of Defence, Idiris Osmaan Haaji Ali, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Sahra Yuusuf Egey, and the Deputy Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, Mohamed Adan Mohamed, conducted an inspection visit today to the voter-card issuance centre in Abdiaziz District, where preparations for the Banaadir local elections are underway.
Upon their arrival, the officials were warmly received by the District Commissioner, Rowdo Abdi Ali, who briefed them on the progress of the voter registration and card distribution process ahead of the December 25 local council elections scheduled to take place in the capital.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Sahra Yuusuf Egey, said they had witnessed a highly motivated community eager to participate in the election and elect leaders of their choice. She encouraged residents who have yet to collect their voter cards to do so promptly, noting that the card is essential for taking part in the upcoming polls.
The Deputy Ministers of Defence and Planning both expressed appreciation for the commitment shown by the district’s residents in completing the registration process. They also praised the ongoing public awareness campaigns encouraging citizens to obtain their voter cards, which they said were crucial for ensuring a transparent and inclusive election in Banaadir.
