Police in Banadir region have arrested a woman accused of fatally stabbing her husband in Mogadishu’s Dayniile district, as investigations continue into the circumstances of the killing.
Police in Banadir region have arrested a woman suspected of killing her husband in Mogadishu’s Dayniile district, security officials confirmed on Friday.
According to a statement issued by the Banadir regional police command, security officers operating in Dayniile apprehended Fadumo Mohamed Osman, who is accused of directly participating in the fatal stabbing of her husband.
The victim, Hassan Mohamed Nur, reportedly died from severe knife wounds allegedly inflicted by his wife, the police statement said.
Security officials noted that investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances and motive behind the killing. Authorities added that the suspect will be presented before a court once the preliminary investigations are completed.
The incident comes amid a rising number of reported domestic homicide cases across parts of Somalia in recent months, with several suspects still in custody over related family killings.
