The Gaashaan Special Forces of Somalia’s NISA conducted a targeted operation in Omar Beere, Lower Shabelle, killing senior Al-Shabaab commander Hassan Sidow Hussein and three of his bodyguards. Hussein was responsible for planning IED attacks against civilians and infrastructure in the region. NISA confirmed that security operations will continue to neutralize threats and protect the public.
The Gaashaan Special Forces of the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) carried out a planned operation last night in the Omar Beere area of Lower Shabelle, targeting a senior Al-Shabaab commander.
The deceased leader, Hassan Sidow Hussein, was reportedly the mastermind behind roadside improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that harmed civilians and disrupted transportation across the region. He played a key role in planning and directing Al-Shabaab attacks in Lower Shabelle.
After an extended search, Gaashaan forces successfully executed the operation, eliminating Hussein along with three of his bodyguards present at the time.
NISA emphasized that security forces are intensifying efforts to protect civilians and dismantle Al-Shabaab’s operational capabilities in the region, pledging that such operations will continue until all threats are neutralized.
