Kenyan police in the port city of Mombasa have detained five suspected Al Shabaab members.
The five suspects are also said to have links with outlawed Mombasa republican council in the coastal region of the country.
According to the police reports the suspects are also believed to have aided Al Shabaab fighters to carry out attacks in Tana River and the inland of Lamu.
Al Shabaab has claimed the responsibility of deadly attacks in Kenya’s coast on June and July last year which has affected Kenya’s main economy, tourism sector.
