Somalia and Algeria Strengthen Justice and Judicial Cooperation

The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Moallim Mahmoud, held an important meeting today with the Prime Minister of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Sifi Ghrieb.
The meeting focused on strengthening the long-standing historical ties between Somalia and Algeria, reinforcing bilateral cooperation, and enhancing collaboration in the areas of justice, judicial development, and the exchange of expertise. Both sides emphasized the importance of advancing cooperation built on brotherhood, mutual respect, and shared interests.
Minister Hassan Moallim expressed his appreciation to the Government and people of Algeria for the warm reception and high-level hospitality extended to him and the Somali delegation. He noted that the meeting further solidifies the foundation of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The discussions underscored the shared commitment of Somalia and Algeria to deepening institutional cooperation, particularly in legal reform, capacity building, and strengthening justice sector institutions.
The meeting was attended by Somalia’s Ambassador to Algeria, H.E. Yusuf Ahmed Hassan (Yusuf Jeego).
