Ireland Navy commander Hugh Tully has confirmed that his country is working on a plan to send a war ship to join EU anti piracy mission in Somali coast.
Hugh who was speaking to the Irish examiner newspaper said his confident that the government will allow the marines to join EU anti piracy mission.-
He added that they are ready to play as significant role in combating piracy in the sea.
Defence Minister Simon Coveney is expected to table the motion in the parliament for approval.
EU anti piracy mission is operating in Somali water since 2008 during the height of piracy operations in which dozens of ships were hijacked.
