Somalia’s Auditor General participates in Anti-Corruption and Transparency Forum in Cairo
The Auditor General of Somalia, Ahmed Issa Gutale, has attended the 3rd Arab Forum on Promoting Transparency and Combating Corruption held in Cairo, Egypt.
The meeting brought together senior government officials, representatives from international organizations, and governance experts to discuss ways of strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance across Arab states.
In his remarks, Mr. Gutale said Somalia has embarked on digitalising its accountability systems by leveraging modern technology to promote transparency and curb corruption.
He underscored the importance of collaboration among Arab countries in building trust, enhancing integrity, and improving institutional performance.
The forum focused on the role of digital transformation and innovation in promoting openness and developing effective public policies that contribute to sustainable governance. It also served as a platform for Arab nations to share experiences and best practices in public sector reforms.
The Somalia Auditor General reaffirmed the country’s commitment to enhancing good governance and working closely with regional partners to strengthen anti-corruption efforts.
