During his intervention, Minister Saalim Aliyow presented an overview of the current state of Somalia’s labor market, outlining both the key challenges facing the sector and the opportunities for growth and reform. He emphasized the impact of prolonged instability, limited formal employment opportunities, and skills gaps, while also pointing to the country’s young population as a significant driver of future economic development.

He highlighted the importance of international cooperation and knowledge-sharing in supporting Somalia’s labor reforms and long-term development goals.
