President Mohamud praises parliament for approving key constitutional provisions

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has commended members of both chambers of the Federal Parliament of Somalia following their approval of key provisions of the Provisional Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

In a statement, the president described the parliamentary decision as a significant milestone that signals Somalia’s gradual transition away from the long-standing provisional phase that has defined the country’s governance framework for years.

President Hassan Sheikh emphasized that completing the constitutional process represents a major national achievement, highlighting its importance for strengthening state institutions, consolidating democratic governance, and establishing a stable and sustainable political system in the country.
