Somalia and Pakistan strengthen political and security cooperation in high-level talks.
The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ali Yusuf Ali (Hoosh), along with a delegation he leads on an official working visit to Islamabad, held a high-level and productive meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari.
Discussions between the two sides focused on strengthening Pakistan’s political and diplomatic support for the Federal Republic of Somalia, as well as enhancing bilateral cooperation in the area of security. Particular emphasis was placed on Somalia’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorist groups and promote national stability.
President Asif Ali Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled position in support of Somalia’s sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity. He expressed Pakistan’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation with Somalia in advancing peace, stability, and state-building efforts.
The meeting underscored the strong and growing relations between Somalia and Pakistan, and reflected both countries’ commitment to deepening collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
