Danab commandos and Jubbaland forces continue operations against Al-Shabaab near Kudhaa.

Somali National Army Danab Commandos, in coordination with Jubbaland forces, are continuing large-scale military operations against Al-Shabaab militants in remote areas surrounding Kudhaa.

According to security officials, the latest operations carried out up to last night resulted in the killing of 24 Al-Shabaab fighters. Two wounded militants were also captured while hiding in forested areas near Kudhaa.

In a separate, planned operation conducted early this morning in the same area, government forces killed four additional militants who were part of groups that had fled earlier clashes.

Security sources confirmed that operations are still ongoing, with forces actively pursuing senior Al-Shabaab commander Fu’aad Shangole, who is believed to be seriously wounded.

The operations form part of sustained efforts by Somali security forces to restore security in the area and eliminate remaining Al-Shabaab elements. Authorities say the continued pressure has significantly weakened the group’s operational capacity in the Kudhaa outskirts.
