Somali Army Land Forces Commander Inspects Military Bases in Beledweyne
The Commander of the Somali National Army (SNA) Land Forces, Major General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, on Tuesday conducted an inspection visit to military bases operated by the Somali National Army in Beledweyne, the administrative capital of Hiiraan region.
During the visit, Major General Sahal toured positions held by the 5th and 29th Brigades of the 27th Division, where he met with officers and rank-and-file soldiers deployed in the area. The inspection focused on assessing the operational readiness, defensive posture, and overall conditions of the troops stationed in the strategically important region.
Addressing the soldiers, the Land Forces Commander commended their commitment and sacrifices in defending the country. He urged them to strengthen national defense efforts and to intensify the execution of their assigned duties, particularly ongoing operations against extremist groups that continue to pose a threat to security and stability.
Major General Sahal emphasized the importance of discipline, vigilance, and unity among the armed forces, noting that the success of military operations depends on professionalism and close coordination between units on the ground.
The visit is part of ongoing efforts by the leadership of the Somali National Army to motivate troops, reinforce command oversight, and enhance the role of the armed forces in safeguarding national sovereignty and stabilizing liberated areas.
