Somali police arrest soldier accused of firing into the air and causing panic in Dharkenley district, Mogadishu.
Somali Police, particularly officers operating from the Dharkenley district station in Mogadishu, have apprehended a soldier of the national army accused of causing public disturbance.
The accused soldier, identified as Dable Xuseen Idoow Abdullaahi, reportedly created panic among civilians at a public location by firing gunshots.
According to a statement from the General Command of Banadir Police, the suspect is now in police custody and will be handed over to the competent court for legal proceedings.
The police statement also reminded all security forces to remain within their designated posts until the completion of the upcoming local council elections scheduled to take place tomorrow in Mogadishu.
Yesterday, Somali Police arrested 11 other soldiers accused of carrying illegal weapons within Mogadishu, which is currently preparing to host the district council elections across the capital.
