Somalia and Serbia reaffirm commitment to strengthened partnership
Somalia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Hon. MP Isaak Mursal, met with Serbia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Damjan Jović in Belgrade to discuss strengthening bilateral relations. The talks focused on expanding cooperation in politics, the economy, technology, education, security, and multilateral engagement.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Isaak Mursal, held an official meeting with his Serbian counterpart, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Damjan Jović.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the long-standing friendly relations between Somalia and Serbia and explored ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. The discussions covered a wide range of areas, including political cooperation, economic development, technological innovation, education, security, and enhanced collaboration within international and multilateral forums.
The two deputy ministers reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying regular political consultations and emphasized the importance of safeguarding shared interests and mutual commitments as part of ongoing efforts to deepen relations between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Republic of Serbia.
In his closing remarks, Deputy Minister Mursal expressed his appreciation to the Government of Serbia for the warm reception extended in Belgrade and reiterated Somalia’s readiness to expand bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations and their peoples.
