South West State President Marks Eid al-Fitr with Citizens in Baidoa
The President of South West State, Abdiasis Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, joined hundreds of residents and government officials in performing Eid al-Fitr prayers at the State House in Baidoa.
The president shared in the celebrations marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, extending his Eid greetings to the Somali people, particularly the residents of South West State. He described Eid as an important occasion to strengthen unity, mutual respect, and social cohesion among communities.
In his remarks, Laftagareen called for renewed efforts to maintain peace and stability across the region, emphasizing that security is essential for accelerating development and reconstruction in South West State.
The Eid prayers were also attended by the Speaker of Parliament, members of the Council of Ministers, lawmakers, regional and district officials, religious scholars, and various segments of society, all of whom came together to celebrate the occasion and reflect on its significance.
The gathering highlighted a sense of unity and shared purpose, as leaders and citizens alike reaffirmed their commitment to peace, cooperation, and progress in Somalia.
