Police in Mogadishu have arrested two individuals accused of public incitement and actions deemed to have threatened public security, authorities have confirmed.
According to the Somali Police Force, officers from the Hodan District Police Station took into custody Mahad Mohamed Hamarow, “Garyaqan”, on allegations of inciting the public and causing security disturbances. The Commander of the Banadir Regional Police, Maallin Mahdi, said the suspect will be presented before a competent court to face the charges in line with the law.
In a separate but related arrest, police also detained Yusuf Hassan Ali, popularly known as “Yuu Boss,” who is accused of involvement in similar acts of public incitement and disruption of public order.
Police officials said the arrests are part of ongoing security operations aimed at maintaining stability in the capital and preventing activities that could fuel unrest. They stressed that all suspects will be accorded due process and that investigations are continuing.
The Somali Police Force has urged members of the public to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies, and use lawful and peaceful means to express their views, as authorities intensify efforts to safeguard security and uphold the rule of law in Mogadishu.
