President Mohamud commends the Somali Police Force for protecting lives and property.
dent Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud has joined celebrations marking the 82nd anniversary of the Somali Police Force, praising officers for their dedication to national security and the development of the force.
The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, participated in the celebrations marking the 82nd anniversary of the Somali Police Force (SPF), extending his congratulations to the senior officers, commanders, deputy commanders, inspectors, rank-and-file officers, and cadets of the force.
President Hassan Sheikh praised the leadership of the Somali Police Force for the visible achievements in maintaining national security, rehabilitating police stations, and enhancing the professionalism and capacity of the force. He emphasized that the police should be fully prepared to uphold their responsibilities in safeguarding the security of the upcoming one-person, one-vote elections in the Benadir region.
“I commend the excellent work of the Somali Police leadership in a short period. Since its establishment in 1943, the Somali Police Force has stood to protect the lives, dignity, and property of the Somali people. I express my sincere gratitude to all Somali police officers, both men and women, who have risked their lives to maintain the security of our country,” said the President.
President Hassan Sheikh also advised officers and personnel to carry out their duties in accordance with the country’s laws, ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives, property, and dignity. He stressed that every officer will be held accountable for their assigned responsibilities.
The 82nd anniversary celebrations of the Somali Police Force were attended by members of the Federal Cabinet, parliamentarians, commanders of the armed forces, former leaders, ambassadors, and other distinguished guests.
