Ambassador Fardowsa Mohamed Qanyare, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Uganda, speaking on behalf of all diplomats at the Somali Embassy and the Somali community in Uganda, extended her congratulations to the citizens and Government of Somalia on the successful conduct of the regional-level elections taking place today in Banadir Region.
Ambassador Fardowsa highlighted that today marks a historic milestone, as citizens are participating in direct, one-person-one-vote elections for the first time in nearly six decades. She described the day as a historic moment for the people of Mogadishu, who are exercising their right to vote with pride and responsibility.
The Ambassador also commended the efforts of the Federal Government of Somalia in ensuring transparent and democratic elections, reflecting the country’s commitment to political stability and the strengthening of state institutions.
