The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Jubaland, Mohamed Hussein Mohamed, has officially opened the Vaccination Review and Planning Conference in the regional capital, Kismayo.
The two-day conference brings together key health officials and partners to assess the current status of the vaccination program across Jubaland and to develop strategies for strengthening immunization services for both children and adults.
The opening session was attended by department directors from the Ministry of Health, regional health coordinators from Lower Juba and Gedo, senior ministry officials, and representatives from partner organizations supporting vaccination programs in the region.
According to the Ministry, the main goal of the conference is to review the achievements made in the immunization program, identify challenges encountered over the past year, and design a new action plan to enhance vaccine delivery and coverage in the near future.
Officials emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Ministry of Health and its partners in ensuring that vaccination services reach all communities, particularly those in remote and hard-to-reach areas, as part of Jubaland’s commitment to improving public health outcomes.
